You can see no-self and be free, right now. Then nothing is wrong anymore.

I’m Kat, short for Katrijn. I share about nonduality as a truth that can be realized right now, in ordinary life. I no longer coach or consult, and there's no teaching or program here. There’s a daily and weekly newsletter, three published books, and various open online meetings that you're very welcome to join.

There are many approaches to nonduality and they can all be valuable depending on what resonates. This approach is practical and empirical, based on an investigation that demonstrates no-self and our true nature in direct experience, instead of asking you to believe something.

You can hear beautiful nondual explanations and descriptions for many years, but until you do your own inquiry it will remain theoretical. No one can give this to you. You have to look for yourself to recognize that there’s no one separate from the freedom we already are.

My intention is to motivate and support you to turn away from theory and to find out for yourself — through my writing and by demonstrating inquiry in meetings. That is all. The rest is up to you.

See for yourself.

The heart of this approach is inquiry: observing and finding out in direct experience what is false and what is true. It’s not complicated. With some clear instructions and enough motivation, anyone can do it. You learn by trying and you already have all you need to succeed.

What you can discover is that the limited, separate self is an illusion — a mental mirage. There’s no one here to own this life, manage it, or get it right. You innocently learned to believe in separation as a small child. This core belief causes all your stress and suffering.

The natural result of seeing no-self and rediscovering our true nature, is the end of your psychological problems. You discover a deep joy and freedom from no longer needing life to be a certain way. Nothing really changes but the quality of life improves drastically, simply from seeing clearly what is true.

A story.

Nonduality found me. I was trying to fix myself and remove depression with self-help — more and more self-help. The self-help morphed into a deep fascination with Buddhism and meditation, as well as the popular teachings of Byron Katie, Eckhart Tolle, and others. None of it worked.

At some point I stumbled upon direct path nonduality. "There is only Awareness and you are that." Okay, whatever. I understood next to nothing and continued my search for a better me. But the nondual books kept popping up and soon I was mass-consuming them. There was something maddeningly attractive about it. I kept hoping the next book would make me understand.

The question everyone asks is: "What finally made you get it?" The honest answer is, I don't know. I noticed it slowly started to make sense. Whole chunks of beliefs and identity fell away. There was less and less reading and more and more spontaneous inquiry. All searching eventually stopped. There was no need for it anymore.

This answer is frustrating, I know. We want a clear step-by-step path to follow. Do A, B, and C and you will end up with D. If that were the case, everyone would be awake to this! We'd have figured it out by now.

There is good news though: If it's true that awakening undoes you, and you're reading this ... then it's already happening. All I can say is, may the interest overtake “you.”
